Uganda
The Uganda Local Network is the first AMEA Network, established in 2018, and is currently led by Rikolto. The current Network includes global members, local members and strategic partners regularly convening large meetings to support transformation of services to agri-enterprises, including farmer organizations and cooperatives.
Uganda BDS Strategic Framework

AMEA Uganda developed an agri-BDS Roadmap during 2019 and 2020, with input from Government experts and local BDS providers. This followed significant contributions to the development of IWA 29, which became ISO 18716. Work accelerated from 2022 onwards as following the launch of the National BDS Strategic Framework by the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development.
BDS Standards on BDS Internal Capacity and BDS Service Delivery were launched in January 2023. ISO 18716 was published in September 2024. These Standards have now become full National Standards and a BDS Association was launched in March 2026. The BDS Strategic Framework is now being revamped for the next phase.
